Bentley wins Jasper County school board seat

Leroy Bentley won election to the Jasper County school board Tuesday during a special election for District 9, which covers the Levy area, according to unofficial results.

Bentley captured the seat by an 11-vote margin, defeating Priscilla Green and former school board member Pamela Williams.

Bentley had 108 votes, or 37 percent; Green had 97, or 33 percent; and Williams had 84, or 29 percent, according to the Jasper County Elections and Voter Registration office.

The votes are unofficial until Friday's canvass at the county elections office.
