The Rotary Club of Hilton Head Island seeks applicants for the Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Global Grant Scholarships.

The scholarships fund graduate study abroad in six areas -- peace and conflict prevention and resolution; disease prevention and treatment; water and sanitation; maternal and child health; basic education and literacy; and economic and community development.

The minimum grant of $30,000 may be used to cover tuition and fees, transportation, living expenses and language training, according to a news release.

Applicants must have graduated from a college or university by fall 2014 to be considered for scholarships in the 2014-15 academic year.

Grants will be awarded competitively at the district level (eastern half of South Carolina). The application deadline for the local level is April 1. Deadline for the district level is June 1.
