Sand Sharks move up to No. 16 in softball poll

Published: March 20, 2013

The University of South Carolina Beaufort moved up to No. 16 in the latest NAIA Softball Coaches Top 25 Poll on Tuesday, as the Sand Sharks continue to gain national recognition after an 18-2 start that has included a pair of wins over NCAA Division I opponents.

The early success has been due in large part to a potent offense, as USCB leads the NAIA in team batting average (.398) and slugging percentage (.611).

USCB plays a Sun Conference doubleheader Friday at Ave Maria.
