A pedestrian was taken Monday to Hilton Head Hospital after being struck by a vehicle at the intersecton of Goethe Road and May River Road, according to the Bluffton Police Department.
At 10:15 a.m., a 2004 Nissan sport utility vehicle was stopped for traffic in the eastbound lane on May River Road. The pedestrian was crossing Goethe Road in the crosswalk and was struck by the vehicle as it began to turn.
The pedestrian was taken to the hosptial with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to a police news release.
The driver was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, according to the release.
