Rep. Peter McCoy, R-Charleston, a candidate in the 1st Congressional District race, has been endorsed by the Ninth Circuit Solicitor Scarlett Wilson.
Wilson, who serves Charleston and Berkeley counties, cited McCoy's leadership and work ethic in making her endorsement.
"While serving as a criminal prosecutor in my office, I saw firsthand Peter's devotion to justice and respect of the Constitution," said Wilson. "Peter is a real leader who makes tough decisions with an educated mind and open heart."
Solicitor Wilson joins Charleston County Coroner Rae Wooten, Kiawah Island Mayor Charles Lipuma, James Island Mayor Bill Woolsey, and Folly Beach Mayor Tim Goodwin in formally endorsing McCoy's campaign.
