Beginning Wednesday, the speed limit on S.C. 170 will drop to 45 mph between Sgt. William Jasper Boulevard and the S.C. 46 traffic circle.

The change will remain in place throughout the duration of the highway widening project. The speed limit will remain the same in existing 35 mph zones.

Drivers should also look out for workers, equipment, traffic control signs and message board information.
