The Technical College of the Lowcountry recently established the Transitioning Military Training Program to assist military members with refining the skills they've gained through their military service to match the demands of today's employers.

The program's first initiative is to develop and offer a course that provides transitioning military aviation mechanics with the knowledge they need to attain a Federal Aviation Association airframe and power plant license.

The program is being funded by a grant from the state of South Carolina, which will cover all costs.
