Hilton Head Island Mayor Drew Laughlin recognized L.J. Bush, Eddie Days and Linda Silver this week at his quarterly citizens of the month dinner.

Bush, longtime assistant baseball and football coach at Hilton Head Island High School, started a mentor program for African-American and Hispanic male students.

Days is the director of The Voices of El Shaddai, which performs Gullah spirituals and native island stories.

Silver has served on many health services boards on the island, including Social Services for Hilton Head Hospital and United Senior Care.
