Dave Harris of Callawassie Island holds an Eastern Kingsnake, a nonpoisonous species that eats other snakes, including rattlesnakes and copperheads. For that reason, Harris says it's a good snake to have around your yard. The snake is being held temporarily at the LowCountry Institute on Spring Island. It will ultimately be released back into the wild.
