Residents can show their support for hometown "American Idol" contestant Candice Glover at a scheduled rally tomorrow.
"American Idol" film crews are coming to Beaufort to film the rally, which will air at a later date on the show. Residents are encouraged to bring signs to the rally, which will be at noon at the pavilion at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in Beaufort.
Film crews will also go to a rally at Beaufort High School, which Candice graduated from in 2008, that afternoon. That event is not open to the public.
Glover, 23, is a St. Helena Island native in the Top 10 of "American Idol." This is Glover's third appearance on the show, and the furthest she's ever made it.
Her parents, John and Carole, are currently in Hollywood for the show. Residents raised money this week to fund their trip, and funds are still needed to support their stay should Glover continue on the show. Donations can be made at any First Citizens Bank branch or at PayPal.com using the email address hobbithill@embarqmail.com.
