Beaufort County Republicans will assemble during the next three days and elect neighborhood-level leaders to help choose new heads to county and state parties.

County GOP chairman Jerry Hallman said the precinct reorganization meetings, which occur every two years, build grassroots interest and party support.

"It is the start of the process that makes the Republican Party an organization versus a movement or a club," he said.

Residents chosen as precinct leaders will participate in the Beaufort County Republican Party's convention April 13 in Sun City Hilton Head. County party leaders, including a new chairman, will be chosen at that meeting, Hallman said.
