The AARP tax-aid program will help prepare tax returns for low- and moderate-income taxpayers, with special attention to those 60 and older.
The program offers electronic filing at the following locations:
Hilton Head Island library, 11 Beach City Road: 1 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays through April 9. No appointment necessary.
SHARE Senior Center, 6 Office Way, Suite 915: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursdays through April 11. No appointment necessary.
Bluffton library, 120 Palmetto Way: 1 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays through April 10. No appointment necessary.
Sun City Hilton Head: Mondays and Thursdays through April 11. Sign up at Lifestyle Services. By appointment only.
Daufuskie Island: Saturdays through April 13. Call Pat Dempsey at 843-686-6270. By appointment only.
Bring a photo ID, last year's tax return, W-2 forms, 1099 forms and 1098 forms, along with information about real estate and personal property deductions, medical expenses and insurance, charitable contributions, and estimated tax payments. If filing a joint return, both parties must be present to sign the return.
