Petty Officer 2nd Class Howard T. L. Whitmore, son of Thomas O. Whitmore Jr. of Beaufort, recently reported for duty at Naval Air Station Meridian in Mississippi.

Whitmore is a 2007 graduate of Beaufort High School and joined the Navy in June 2007.
