A mobile dental program for local children got a $50,000 donation Friday from the BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Foundation.
The foundation presented the check to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coastal Empire.
"The grant was provided to support the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Dental program," Harvey Galloway, the foundation's executive director, said in a news release. "The Care Mobile serves public elementary schools, some preschools and children of migrant workers throughout Beaufort, Jasper and Hampton counties."
Since the foundation was established in 2003, it has allocated more than $41 million in South Carolina for health needs.
The Care Mobile program serves more than 1,600 children each year, the release said.
