Evangelical leader endorses Grooms

National evangelical Christian leader David Barton endorsed Sen. Larry Grooms, R-Berkeley, in his run for the 1st Congressional District.

Barton traveled across the distrct with Grooms to announce his support, citing Grooms' consistent record of conservatism on social and fiscal issues.

Barton is the founder and president of WallBuilders, a national pro-family organization that emphasizes moral, religious and constitutional heritage. Time Magazine named him as one of America's 25 most influential evangelicals in 2005.
