Foreign aid for Egypt rings hollow for US

info@islandpacket.comMarch 7, 2013

On the front page of the March 4 issue, a headline states, "Deal to avert shutdown unlikely." The story states that the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on a spending measure to keep the government running after current funding ends March 27.

Then on page 6-A, the top story is that the U.S. will give $190 million to Egypt, plus an additional $60 million to private groups within Egypt. I don't understand why all this money goes to other countries, most of whom don't like us anyway, and yet our own country is going broke and our people are struggling to make ends meet. It makes no sense.
