Published: March 5, 2013

Noises heard near the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort today and Wednesday are caused by explosive ordnance disposal training.
The last time the air station held explosive ordnance disposal training, residents reported on social media "booms" shaking houses across northern Beaufort County from Whale Branch to Coosaw Island to Port Royal.

The training will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The training aims to improve team operations and help Marines further their capabilities within their job field according to a news release.
