Beaufort County sheriff's deputies found marijuana, cocaine and other drugs when they arrived at a Hilton Head Island pizza place Saturday to arrest the owner on a marijuana charge.
According to a news release, deputies went to Bravo Pizza on New Orleans Road at about 5 p.m. to serve an outstanding warrant against owner Aaron William Gessner for simple possession of marijuana.
When they arrived, they smelled freshly burnt marijuana and found some of it in the business office, the release said.
Members of the Drug Investigation Section got a search warrant, and a search turned up 47 grams of cocaine, 9 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 58 prescription pills along with a scale, small plastic bags and other paraphernalia. A total of 106 grams of marijuana was seized, the release said.
Gessner, 31, now faces charges of trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and two counts of simple possession of marijuana. More charges could be lodged after the pills and mushrooms are identified, the release said.
Gessner has been released from the Beaufort County Detention Center after posting $61,240 bail, according to the jail log.
