State Rep. Bill Herbkersman, R - Bluffton and Rep. Weston Newton, R-Bluffton are endorsing their fellow House member, Rep. Andy Patrick, R-Hilton Head, in his bid to represent the 1st Congressional District.

"They have proven to be amazing public servants on behalf of the people of Beaufort County, both locally and in Columbia. Their counsel has been a great asset to me throughout this entire campaign and it is a pleasure to serve alongside them in Columbia," Patrick said in a statement.

Hilton Head Island Town Councilman George Williams also endorsed Patrick Monday.

Patrick is the only Hilton Head resident in the race. His other endorsements include:

• Bluffton Mayor Lisa Sulka and council members Huffman, Raymond and Lavery
• Hilton Head Mayor Drew Laughlin and council members George Williams and Kim Likins
• Beaufort County Council member Tabor Vauxand former county council member Skeet Von Harten
