The USC Beaufort softball team hopes to continue its undefeated start to the 2013 season when it begins a busy stretch with a home doubleheader against Columbia College at 4 p.m. Monday at Richard Gray Sports Complex.
The 21st-ranked Sand Sharks had four road games rained out last weekend, so they have not seen action since sweeping a doubleheader from Edward Waters on Feb. 18 to improve to 8-0.
The long layoff gives way to a steady stream of home games, as USCB is scheduled to play 14 home contests over the next 11 days with regular-season games interspersed between games of the Smash Hit Softball Classic.
The Fighting Koalas split a doubleheader at Coastal Georgia on Sunday, losing the second game to end a four-game winning streak.
