The Jasper County School District's Office of Federal Programs will offer an adult-literacy class for parents beginning March 11.
The classes will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday through Thursday at the parenting centers on the Ridgeland and Hardeeville campuses; 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Jasper County Alternative School Building in Ridgeland and St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hardeeville; and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays at the alternative school building and the church.
Parents will be required to take a 10-minute test when they apply for the class. Tests will be offered Monday through Friday at school sites. A school official will call parents to confirm their date for the test, according to a news release.
Applications are available at all Jasper County public schools and at www.jcsd.net.
