HILTON HEAD RUGBY ROUTS SAVANNAH
The Hilton Head Rugby Club overpowered rival Savannah on Saturday at Savannah's Forsyth Park, winning 38-0 to improve to 3-0 on the season.
Jason Carnes scored three tries for Hilton Head, while Craig Fenstermaker and Grant Goodrich each had one try.
Neil Turner was 5 for 5 on point-after kicks and 1 of 2 on penalty kicks.
Forward Mike Vaughn and back Grant Goodrich were named the men of the match.
Hilton Head is back in Savannah next Saturday and Sunday for the annual St. Patrick's tournament.
WILMOT TO SPEAK AT ATHLETIC CLUB MEETING
Steve Wilmot, Tournament Director of the RBC Heritage and the Player's Amateur, will be the guest speaker on Monday, March 11, at the Athletic Club of the Lowcountry's monthly meeting.
The meeting will be held at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church on Buckwalter Parkway in Bluffton across from the Publix Shopping Center. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m., and the presentation will begin at 7.
Wilmot is in his 27th year of being associated with the PGA Tour's Heritage tournament and in his 16th year as tournament director. He is also a member of the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame.
