The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is searching for the man who robbed a Burton-area insurance agency Friday afternoon.

The incident, reported at 4:40 p.m., occurred at a People's Choice Insurance location on Parris Island Gateway after a man wearing a face mask entered the agency and brandishing a weapon, the report said. He stole $1,500.

The suspect is described as a black male standing five-foot-nine and weighing 220 pounds. He also was wearing Nike Air Force One sneakers.
