Recently, 12 people from eight Episcopal parishes in South Carolina and other parts of the country conducted a clinic over six days in La Barquita, an impoverished barrio outside of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. The team members included two translators, a nurse practitioner, registered nurses, a pharmacist, a lab technologist and several non-medical volunteers. Five members of All Saints Episcopal Church on Hilton Head Island were part of the team. Pictured here is Julie Erlandsen, a resident of Sun City Hilton Head who was a member of the All Saints of South Carolina Medical Mission Team, who brought a young patient to see a physician during the group's recent clinic held in a barrio of the Dominican Republic.
