A traffic safety checkpoint by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Unit on Wednesday on Lady's Island yielded one charge of possession of crack cocaine, three charges of simple possession of marijuana and two charges of driving under suspension.
Authorities also recovered a vehicle that was later reported stolen in Port Royal. The vehicle had been abandoned in the road near the checkpoint area, which was at the intersection of Lady's Island Drive and Island Causeway.
Also during the checks, two warning tickets were issued for vehicle-license offenses, and one citation was issued for an open container of beer or wine.
