Five 12-packs of beer were found in trash being taken out from a Lady's Island convenience store by a man who said he is paid to do the chore, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies were called to Circle K, 114 Sea Island Parkway, at about 10 p.m. Wednesday after a clerk reported the man was trespassing and not allowed in the store.
The man told deputies the clerk pays him $5 to take out the trash. When deputies looked in the trash, they found five 12-packs of Coors Light beer worth $50. The man denied putting the beer in the trash cans. He was arrested on trespassing charges.
