Two people were injured when an SUV overturned Thursday afternoon on the Bluffton Parkway, causing the closing of one eastbound and one westbound lane near the Buck Island Road intersection. Bluffton police Lt. Joe Babkiewicz said a woman lost control of a silver Ford SUV at about 3:30 p.m., striking a curb and then a tree, causing the vehicle to flip. The driver, Velinda Morales of Hardeeville, was taken to Hilton Head Hospital, and one of her four passengers was taken to Savannah's Memorial University Medical Center. Both had minor injuries, Babkiewicz said. A child in the back seat was not hurt, but no other injuries were reported. The investigation into the cause of the wreck continues. The road was cleared by 4:20 p.m., Babkiewicz said.
