A woman's purse was stolen as she loaded packages in her vehicle Saturday on Port Republic Street, according to the Beaufort Police Department.
A man in a silver 1980s model Buick with a yellow dealer tag pulled up and asked the woman for directions. He grabbed her purse and drove off. He was described as a black man in his 20s with gold or silver teeth.
