A Charleston ABC affiliate will be added to the channel line-up for Hargray customers.
Charleston-based WCIV-TV will be on Channel 115 in standard definition and Channel 419 in high definition beginning Friday, Hargray announced today.
"We are very happy to bring Charleston's ABC affiliate to our channel line-up, and with it, additional South Carolina-related coverage to our customers," Andrew Rein, vice president of sales and marketing for Hargray, said in a news release.
"This has been a high priority for us, especially since our acquisition of Charter's Beaufort system, and we are grateful WCIV chose to work with us to make this happen for a reasonable fee," Rein said. "This arrangement ensures we can continue to provide the content our customers' desire while being mindful of the ever increasing cost of programming."
WCIV is owned by Allbritton Communications Company in Mount Pleasant. Syndicated programming on the channel includes Entertainment Tonight, The Dr. Oz Show, Ellen and The Rachael Ray Show.
Hargray is a cable, Internet and telephone provider in Beaufort, Jasper and Hampton counties in South Carolina and Chatham County in Georgia.
