Beaufort County residents can get rid of their expired or leftover medication at three different events this spring.
The medicine cabinet clean-outs will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Public Works-South at 6 Benton Field in Bluffton; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27 at the Town of Hilton Head Island Fire & Rescue Division at 40 Summit Drive; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 4 at Public Works-North at 142 Shanklin Road in Beaufort.
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, along with 11 other sponsors, is administering the program, which will accept prescription and over-the-counter drugs, vitamins and herbal supplements. It will not accept liquid medications, syringes or medical waste. Residents should black-out identifying personal information from containers.
