Thanks to Franklins for Fast Lane Track Club volunteer work

Published: February 25, 2013

We would like to thank James and Temekia Franklin for all the volunteer work they do for the Fast Lane Track Club.

Their dedication and enthusiasm, plus their time at practices three days a week, is much appreciated. They organize all the meets and help each child excel in his or her events.

They take time off of their jobs to take the Fast Lane Track Club to various AAU and USA track and field meets all over the United States. The Disney meet, held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports arena in Orlando, Fla., and the national meet, which was in Texas last year, involve many hours of preparation and planning.

The club is a nonprofit organization on Hilton Head Island. It provides Beaufort County youth, ages 6 to 18, an athletic program that gives young athletes an opportunity to compete on state, regional and national levels.
