Marine Corps to celebrate women's contributions

A celebration of the 70th anniversary of women in the U.S. Marine Corps will be from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.

The 4th Recruit Training Battalion will host a celebration to recognize the history, tradition and service of women in the Marine Corps, according to a news release. Scheduled events include a morning colors ceremony, demonstrations, tours of a squad bay, reminiscing and a graduation ceremony.
