More than 2,000 are expected to attend this year's Business EXPO, the largest business-building event in the Lowcountry, according to its organizer, the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce.
The event, held Tuesday and Wednesday, will include new events this year, including a "social-media bar," during which attendees can hop from table to table, consulting with local and national social-media experts to learn how to use the technology to expand their businesses.
Anissa Starnes of Constant Contact, one of the nation's largest digital-marketing providers, also will talk about new trends in social media and email marketing.
Also new this year is a seminar for business owners who want to learn what changes to federal health care law might mean for their businesses. That session will be conducted by Bill Igleheart, vice president of BlueCross BlueShield, and Kelly Jolley, an attorney with the McNair Law Firm.
Many of the major changes under the Affordable Care Act take effect in 2014.
More than 100 businesses will also set up booths during the event, allowing attendees to learn more about them.
"Our members have let us know that networking and exposure for their business are two of the top reasons they belong to the chamber," said chamber spokeswoman Charlie Clark. "And Business EXPO is really networking at its best. It brings the business community together in a very big way."
There is no cost to attend the expo during the day, but the after hours social events are $10 for chamber members and $20 for non-members. Also, seminar fees are $15 and include free admission into Wednesday's EXPO After Hours.
