Hilton Head fire displaces three Friday morning

A Hilton Head Island home fire has displaced three Friday, according to a news release from the American Red Cross.

Hilton Head Island Fire & Rescue Division responded to the fire at 19 Murray Ave. According to the release, the fire caused major damage. A call to a spokeswoman with Hilton Head Fire & Rescue was not immediately returned.

Red Cross volunteers provided money to help replace food and clothing. They also provided comfort kits.

The Red Cross has helped 756 people affected by disasters, including home fires, in its seven-county region of Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton and Jasper counties since July 1.
