Beaufort County residents to help Haley with 2014 election

A group of Beaufort County residents has been appointed to help Gov. Nikki Haley's 2014 reelection attempt.

Haley announced Tuesday the formation of a statewide grassroots committee, chaired by S.C. Republican Party Chairman Chad Connelly. The members will work in their respective counties to gather support for Haley. The Lexington Republican has yet to announce her reelection bid but is expected to do so in the coming months.

Beaufort County members of the committee are: Mary Amonitti, former president of the Republican Women of Southern Beaufort County; Bonnie Canova, activist; Judy Dobrei, activist; Jerry Hallman, Beaufort County Republican Party chairman; Tom Hatfield, Hilton Head Island First Monday Republican Club co-founder; Lauren Martel, S.C. Republican Party 1st Congressional District secretary; Taylor Mason, College Republicans chairman at the University of South Carolina Beaufort; Doug Novak, activist; Blane Raley, activist; Sandra Reed, activist; Charlie Reed, activist; and James Wedgworth, Republican leader.
