A man who quickly performed CPR after seeing a golfer fall over at a local course last April will be honored by the Bluffton Township Fire District today.

Firefighters will present Bob Kart with a Citizens Heroism Award at a 4 p.m. ceremony at fire district headquarters at 357 Fording Island Road. His quick action on April 2 helped save the golfer's life, according to public education officer Sandy Stroud.

The fire district has recognized residents who help out during a medical emergencies before. The most recent ceremony was in September, when firefighters thanked Mill Creek resident Frank Szczepanik for saving an infant from drowning at a local pool.
