Retired Marine Gunnery Sgt. Charles S. Smith III, 56, of Beaufort and husband of Darlene Fletcher Smith, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Visitation will be at noon Friday at the Church of God, with funeral services at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Beaufort National Cemetery, with full military honors.
