Boys & Girls Club thankful to Hilton Head Firefighters Association

info@islandpacket.comFebruary 15, 2013

We are very grateful to the Hilton Head Firefighters Association for its grant to the Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head Island. We recognize how much the firefighters do over and above the demanding job they do every day to raise money for grants.

The money will be used to enhance our programming in youth development, which includes mentoring young people in the responsibilities required to sustain a safe and thriving community. The association's contribution greatly enhances our ability to help our children and youth adjust to an ever-changing world and become responsible citizens in the future.

Firefighters are always so good to help us with safety classes and demonstrations, and in providing the much-needed relief of a cool spray in the heat of our summer camp program. We hope that the nurturing, family feeling of having them as part of our Boys & Girls Club life will last a long time. Their care and presence continue to inspire many of the children who need us most.
