A Hilton Head Island man suspected of peeping at women in South Forest Beach during the past several months was arrested Wednesday after a resident spotted him lurking again outside of an apartment complex, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

A resident of Beach Arbor Villas on DeAllyon Avenue called deputies at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday after spotting a man as he ran from the complex, according to a news release.

Deputies found 32-year-old Rocky Gadson nearby and arrested him, the release said.

Investigators had already identified Gadson as a "person of interest" in several reports of voyeurism on Hilton Head, according to the Sheriff's Office.

He also matched the description of the Beach Arbor Villas' voyeur, where the same resident had reported seeing a man outside of the apartments, sometimes hiding in the bushes, multiple times in recent weeks, authorities said. The man was believed to be watching young female tennis students as they dressed in the morning, the Sheriff's Office has said.

Gadson also is suspected in Peeping Tom and indecent-exposure cases at the Metropolitan Hotel, Tanglewood Villas, the Comfort Inn on Tanglewood Drive and the Treetops apartments on Cordillo Parkway, according to the Sheriff's Office.

In one of those cases, the Sheriff's Office says Gadson climbed a ladder in October to look at a 25-year-old woman through her second-story bedroom window at the Ocean Breeze Apartments. Gadson, a Cordillo Courts resident, has been charged with one count of being a Peeping Tom in that case, and more charges may be pending, authorities say.

Three sightings of a Peeping Tom, described as a black male between the ages of 20 and 30, have been reported in the past several weeks.

On Jan. 30, a female desk clerk at the Metropolitan Hotel said she saw a man fondling himself outside a window at 1:30 a.m.

And on Feb. 6, a 13-year-old girl reported seeing a man looking at her through her bedroom window at Tanglewood Villas in the South Forest Beach neighborhood.
