Kathryn LeRoy

The second of three public forums for Beaufort County School District superintendent candidates is tonight.

Kathryn LeRoy will make her case for being hired and answer questions from the public tonight.

The forum will be from 7 to 8 p.m. at the district offices, 2900 Mink Point Blvd. in Beaufort.

LeRoy will give a short opening statement, and then take questions from the audience. The forum will be broadcast on the County Channel, which is Channel 113 or 9 for Hargray customers, Channel 63 for Time Warner Cable customers, and Channel 2 for Comcast customers.

It will also be live-streamed on the County Channel's website at www.co.beaufort.sc.us.

The forum hosts will alternate between audience members' and TV viewers' questions. TV viewers can ask Moss questions by emailing them to questions@beaufort.k12.sc.us.

Attendees will be able to turn in hard-copy comment forms at the end of the forum. TV viewers, or anyone else, can submit online comment forms on the district website before 9 a.m. Friday.

LeRoy is the director of high school programs for the 125,000-student Duval County Public Schools in Jacksonville, Fla. She has never been a superintendent, but supporters say she has a strong background in academics and curriculum reform.

For more on LeRoy's background, read Tuesday's profile.

The last forum will be Tuesday. Gloria J. Davis will be featured after Tuesday's school board meeting at the Bluffton library, 120 Palmetto Way. That forum is expected to start at 7:30 p.m.
