Beaufort County School District superintendent candidate Jeffrey Moss will make his case for being hired and answer questions from the public at a forum tonight.
The forum will be from 7 to 8 p.m. at the district offices, 2900 Mink Point Blvd. in Beaufort.
Moss will give a short opening statement, and then take questions from the audience. The forum will be broadcast on the County Channel, which is Channel 113 or 9 for Hargray customers, Channel 63 for Time Warner Cable customers, and Channel 2 for Comcast customers.
It will also be live-streamed on the County Chanels website at www.co.beaufort.sc.us.
The forum hosts will alternate between audience members and TV viewers questions. TV viewers can ask Moss questions by emailing them to questions@beaufort.k12.sc.us.
Attendees will be able to turn in hard-copy comment forms at the end of the fourum. TV viewers, or anyone else, can submit online comment forms on the district website before 9 a.m. Thursday.
Comments after the 24-hour window closes should be sent directly to Board of Education members.
Moss is currently the superintendent of the 9,850-student Lee County School District in Sanford, N.C.
His supporters say he has expanded classroom technology and improved graduation rates in that district. However, detractors say he denied school for a student on long-term suspension and cursed at two people during a public forum.

Forums for the other two superintendent candidates are scheduled for this week and next. Kathryn LeRoy will appear Thursday at 7 p.m. at the district office. Gloria J. Davis will be featured after the Feb. 19 school board meeting at the Bluffton library, 120 Palmetto Way. That forum is expected to start at 7:30 p.m.
Follow reporter Tom Barton for live updates from the forum at twitter.com/IPBG_Tom, and check back with The Island Packet and The Beaufort Gazette tonight for a full story.
