Bluffton Town Councilman Mike Raymond has endorsed Rep. Andy Patrick, R-Hilton Head Island, in his race for the 1st Congressional District seat.

"Andy has been a strong advocate for Beaufort County in Columbia and will surely do the same in the halls of Congress," Raymond said in a statement. "Washington needs a strong dose of Lowcountry values, and I am confident that Andy will bring those values to Congress with him."

Patrick has already recieved the endorsement of Bluffton Mayor Lisa Sulka.

The primary will be March 19.
