EVENTS Student artwork will be on display in the annual Promising Picassos Student Art Exhibition, which runs until Feb. 28 in the Bank of America room of the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina. The Promising Picassos event is presented annually by the Island School Council for the Arts. The student art exhibition, now in its 21st year, is open to all students, grades 3 through 12 in the public, private and home schools of southern Beaufort County.
OTHER The Community Foundation of the Lowcountry has recently updated its online directory of local, state and regional scholarships for area high school students. The directory lists scholarships as well as general information on financial aid and helpful tips. There are more than 60 scholarships listed, representing more than $500,000 in annual awards. The Wildcat Games is an intramural sports program held in addition to the students' weekly physical education class. Grade level classes are matched against each other in a friendly completion. Wildcat Games helps to promote teamwork skills, good sportsmanship and physical activity in a fun environment for the students. Champions classrooms: Dori Plejdrup, fifth; Gretchen Fritz, fourth; Ivette Davis, third; Mary Theiling, second.
EVENTS Chick-fil-A Spirit Night is 5-8 p.m. Feb. 27. Proceeds will benefit the fourth grade classrooms.
