Area teams start high school basketball playoffs Monday

The South Carolina High School League basketball playoffs get under way Monday, and the Hilton Head Island High and Whale Branch Early College girls will be the first schools in the area to begin the postseason.

The Seahawks (Class 3-A) and Warriors (Class 1-A) both host first-round games at 7 p.m. Monday.

Eight more area teams begin the playoffs on Tuesday and Wednesday, with five of those teams hosting first-round games.

Beaufort at Goose Creek, 7 p.m. Wednesday

Wando at Bluffton, 7 p.m. Wednesday

Class 3-A

Hilton Head Island at Midland Valley, 7 p.m. Tuesday

Class 2-A

Ridgeland-Hardeeville at Calhoun County, 7 p.m. Wednesday

Silver Bluff at Battery Creek, 7 p.m. Wednesday

Class 1-A

Cross at Whale Branch, 7 p.m. Tuesday


Class 3-A

Gilbert at Hilton Head Island, 7 p.m. Monday

Class 2-A

Calhoun County at Ridgeland-Hardeeville, 7 p.m. Tuesday

Battery Creek at Silver Bluff, 7 p.m. Tuesday

Class 1-A

Lincoln at Whale Branch, 7 p.m. Monday
