First congressional candidate Elizabeth Colbert-Busch, a Democrat, got some national attention from her brother, comedian Stephen Colbert, during his Comedy Central show that aired Wednesday.
"No free airtime, Lulu," Colbert said, referring to his big sister by her nickname. "As a broadcast journalist, I am obligated to maintain pure objectivity. It doesn't matter that my sister is intelligent, hardworking, compassionate and dedicated to the people of South Carolina."
Colbert said he is thinking about supporting one of Busch's Republican rivals, perhaps Mark Sanford whom he called the "former governor of the Appalachian Trail."
