Published: February 7, 2013

A Burton homeowner and several guests were reportedly robbed at gunpoint during a poker game in a garage last night, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies went to the scene of the armed robbery at 1 Country Manor Road just before midnight, according to a news release.

The 30-year-old homeowner said a man with a gun came in through an unlocked side door and ordered everyone to the floor. He then directed one of the victims to collect cash from each person and put it in a bag. The release said the suspect ran off with cash and two cell phones. No one was hurt during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a slender, light-skinned black male wearing a green hooded sweatshirt with a gold design and a mask that covered the lower half of his face. The victims also reported the suspect yelled to an unseen person believe to be standing outside the garage during the robbery, according to the release.
