A Board of Education member functions during -- and only during -- board meetings, not as a loose cannon.

A member with suggestions for the teachers introduces them during meetings. With the support of other members, they are relayed through the director of instruction or the superintendent.

School board member Mike Sanz should have been told that before attending his first meeting. I was told that some 50 years ago (eight years as board member, two as president).
