Performers, audience deserve better systems

My wife and I attended the Beaufort County Historical Society presentation Thursday at the University of South Carolina Beaufort Performing Arts Center. That makes some dozen or so events we have attended over the last nine years.

Throughout every event we have attended, there has been one common occurrence, problems with the audio system, the video system or both. Most if not all individuals who participate in these presentations are volunteers, and they deserve better support than what has been happening at USCB. A key player's audio equipment quit working almost immediately when the performance started and barely could be heard. The Beaufort community has faithfully support this facility, especially financially, ever since it opened. The community deserves better. The participants deserve better.

The senior management of the Beaufort campus needs to rip out the complete audio-video system and start over. They need to buy top-notch equipment and select a premium vendor.
