Eagles lost to Wildcats earlier this season

The Beaufort High wrestling team faces the Lexington Wildcats at 6 p.m. Monday night in the quarterfinals of the Class 4-A state dual tournament.

The Eagles advanced to the quarters Saturday with wins over Goose Creek, 48-20, and Conway, 57-19, in Conway.

Beaufort High (22-6), the No. 2 team in Region 8-AAAA, will face a Region 5-AAAA champion Lexington team (25-2) that defeated the Eagles, 50-18, earlier this season.

"It's going be a tall order," Beaufort coach Bill Damude told the Beaufort Gazette on Saturday. "Hopefully, the guys can rise to the occasion."

The Wildcats are ranked No. 2 in 4-A, while the Eagles are No. 5.

The winner will face the winner of the Summerville-White Knoll matchup on Wednesday.
