HARDEEVILLE -- The second day of the season produced the same result as the first for the University of South Carolina Beaufort baseball team, as the Sand Sharks split a doubleheader with Shawnee State (Ohio) for the second consecutive day Sunday at Richard Gray Sports Complex.
The Sand Sharks won Sunday's first game 7-4 behind a solid USCB debut from junior right-hander Hunter Englehart and a big day at the plate from juniors Blake Cilwick and Erik Armstrong and senior Terry McClinton.
But the Bears rebounded to claim the final game 15-9 to salvage a split of the four-game series.
